Tobie Coggle grew up in Regional Victoria and inner Melbourne, moving to Natimuk in the early 2000’s. She has since lived in Alice Springs and now Castlemaine. All places that provide opportunities to enjoy big sky views. 

 

She studied at Victorian College of the Arts, Prahran campus, working across various mediums. After art college she completed study in Australian archaeogy and aesthetics at Melbourne University and Latrobe University. She then worked as a freelance illustrator both in Australia and the Phillipines, focusing on client’s briefs that entailed education materials and Australian lithics.

 

Her personal creative focus has been inspired by these two areas of study: examining and presenting creative responses to self and to place, and our relationship over time to both.
